Cubs v White Sox Brawl and Sweep!

This past weekend kicked off with the Cubs v White Sox Crosstown Classic game! Christine had tickets and was kind enough to invite me along! We had an absolute blast! It was the first winning game I had attended this year! Not to mention how rabid the fans were at “The Cell“. It was a total madhouse!

A few people got kicked out of the game for that craziness, after which there were at least 15 guards in our section kicking out anybody causing problems. We probably saw 15 people get kicked out! Totally nuts – but also a blast! Thanks again Christine!

We then headed to Melissa’s apartment to continue the festivities! She just moved into a gorgeous place with incredible views of the city! I had a blast – but a bit TOO much fun as I wasted most of the next day in recovery mode! That jungle juice was EVIL!

The Cubbies went on to sweep the series! Go Cubs!

I decided to look up Schott Music and write them to see what exactly violated the copyright in an effort to not repeat this mistake. The video was only about 30 seconds long and recorded at a free outdoor event. I’m assuming that they either own the rights to Carmina Burana or the Grant Park Orchestra – either way, I’m curious to see what kind of response I get.

Know thyself?

This may be old to some, but it is the first time I have seen it. Happened upon it randomly – but it spoke to me.

I can’t help but to wonder what he sees when he looks at those images – his expression is the same, no matter what he was going through on any of those days. I wonder what surfaces for him.

I wonder what a flip book of my life would look like. What it would look like for me, what it would look like to others.

I suppose this blog is a flip book of sorts… does it truly represent me? When I look back six years from now, what will I see?

Collective wood

Mr. Colbert giving the dreaded “double wag” of his fingers to the iPhone. Saw this last night and just had to post it. Hilarious!

As far as collective wood goes – Technorati reveals 14,235 blog posts on the iPhone. It is currently the number 1 search and number 5 tag. Though initially quite erect the chart below demonstrates flaccidity over time:

# of iPhone blog posts by day

Auld Lang Syne

Had a great time at the Tasting Room last night! Lots of good friends and lots of good booze! Somehow managed to not be totally hung over today – making sure to drink water was key! John invited us over to his apartment afterwards and him and Dave shared a few words…

For those of you who couldn’t be there with us – your presence was missed! Happy New Year!

Katty’s live TV debut!

Katty’s first live studio interview on Telemundo Chicago the day after mid-term elections!

Another pre-taped interview on Univision

She will probably kill me for posting these but I just had to as I’m so proud of her for everything that she has done since she started at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights – she did a fantastic job in both of these interviews and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her! Congratulations Katty!

As far as a transcript of said interviews – I think I’ll wait until Google Labs comes up with a live audio translation program!
