Ohhh… you can embed a slideshow with Picasa now!

Event #1 Friday – Mila’s Citizenship party

Arrival: ~8pm
Departure: 4:30am
Lets just say that I had to see some of the videos that I took to jog my memory about the party!

Event #2 Saturday – Club Lakewood Memorial Day Party

First drink: 1pm
Last drink: 4am
Dave ended up ordering a second keg! Teresa and her friends came by later in the evening and ended up the last ones to leave!

Event #3 Sunday – Closing show for Hall of Hungry Ghosts (Mom and Teresa’s play) & Cast Party

Play started at 2pm
Left the cast party shortly after 6pm
The play was fantastic! Sunday was definitely the better of the two performances that I saw. Very proud of both Mom and Teresa!

Event #4 Sunday – Pepe’s going away party

Arrived after 7pm
Went to bed at 7:30am
LONG night – given the fact that I was already exhausted from the nights prior! Suerte en Nueva York Pepe!

Event #5 Memorial Day – Cubbies Rooftop Outing

Bloody Marys and Mimosas – 11am
Last drink for the day – 8pm
On just over 3 hours of sleep – I’m not really sure how I made it through the day!

Almost a week later, and I’m still not sure I’ve fully recovered! I ended up taking Tuesday off for some much needed R&R. The rest of the week went by quickly, and this weekend has been much more relaxed. Did I want to participate in every event? Yes. Did I have to stay up until the wee hours of the morning? No.

One of these days I’ve got to set my limits – before I find them the hard way!

On tequila

Tequila and I don’t get along very well, not very well at all. Probably a combination of upside-down-margarita-shots and those of the “normal” variety. Cheap tequila probably hasn’t helped. I’ve never been able to truly articulate my feelings about tequila, so when I read the following passage, I couldn’t help but to laugh!

Tequila, scorpion honey, harsh dew of the doglands, essence of Aztec, crema de cacti; tequila, oil and thermal like the sun in solution; tequila, liquid geometry of passion; Tequila, the buzzard god who copulates in midair with the ascending souls of dying virgins; tequila, firebug in the house of good taste; O tequila, savage water of sorcery, what confusion and mischief your sly, rebellious drops do generate!

Auld Lang Syne

Had a great time at the Tasting Room last night! Lots of good friends and lots of good booze! Somehow managed to not be totally hung over today – making sure to drink water was key! John invited us over to his apartment afterwards and him and Dave shared a few words…

For those of you who couldn’t be there with us – your presence was missed! Happy New Year!

Feliz cumpleanos Katty!

With as crazy as the last few weeks have been – I haven’t had a moment to post Katty’s b-day party pictures! The surprise went quite well – thanks for all those who kept their mouths shut! We followed up dinner with “cazuelas” – 32oz of Long Island in a clay pot.. bad idea! But we managed to dance the night away any only suffer for a day or two afterwards. Happy (belated) Birthday Katty!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve been cooking for the last 3 hours! Finally changed into my “dinner clothes” and ready to sit back and let everything bake! As Teresa is now a vegetarian, I made what is starting to become a traditional dish – Lasagna Florentine. I made a double batch and am saving the rest of the sauce for December. Can’t wait to eat as I haven’t had anything since dinner last night! Hope everybody out there has a fantastic Thanksgiving with their families! Its amazing when I really think about everything we have to be thankful for!

Our last minute costume

This weekend was totally insane. Outside of the fact that I spent most of the weekend helping Katty with her move, my uncle and aunt were in town, I sold the Jetta, and there were more than a few Halloween parties to go to! Let me begin with Friday morning…

We often park Katty’s car in the alley next to her building when bringing a bunch of stuff up or down the stairs. We always put the hazards on and we never leave it there for more than 15 min. Until Thursday night. It totally slipped both our minds. Friday morning we went out to get her car and go sign the lease – when we got outside we saw a familiar car sitting in the alley. I was convinced it was somebody else’s car as we would never have left it there! Luckily there was no ticket. But the leaving the Hazards on all night kills the battery. D’OH! As Katty called AAA I got out of the car and decided to ask the only guy walking down the street if he had a vehicle and jumper cables. He sighed and said… “yea, I do”. He totally came to our rescue! The situation was resolved in 5 minutes! Of course it just added to the stress factor already present!
